Hi, can you please help me get this upgrade of a Sony Experia Z2 511 tablet completed. I apologise if my queries seem foolish, this should be possible but so far I must be doing something silly.
I’m following the instructions at this link:-
https://stockromfiles.com/sony-xperia-z2-tablet-wi-fi-sgp511-stock-rom/
I’ve installed the USB drivers and the Samsung Android ADB interface is present in Device Manager.
I have downloaded the Stock Rom, extracted it and the rtf file shows as follows;_
SGP511 23.5.A.1.291_1281-8885_R1D.ftf
This doesn’t look like the Sony Erisson file on the web page but I’m guessing each stock rom must be different.
So on to the Flasher which is where it begins to go a bit pear shaped for me! It’s installed on the PC and opens as per your web photos, however, after that things go awry!
.
The first question I have is does the tablet have to be connected to the PC when running Flasher?
The second question is why can’t I see the RTF file when I point to the folder containing it?
My uncertainty comes at stages 6 and 7.You say at stage 6-
Step 6: After the stock ROM file is loaded, click on the “Flash” button. Once done, switch off your Sony device.
This implies that the tablet is connected to the PC but at stage 7 you say-
Step 7: Now while pressing the Volume Down button, connect your device to the computer using the original USB data cable.
Which seems to suggest that the tablet was not connected to the PC in the first place.
In addition, and I have yet to get to stage 7, does ‘pressing the volume down button’ actually boot up the tablet as the usb cable is connected or do I also need to press the power button at the same time?
No doubt rather dumb questions but I don;t want to ruin my wife’s tablet in trying to get her up to Android 6.
Many thanks for any help you can provide.
